The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say they have a lady in custody and are investigating after 2 men were found injured during a fight in Whitehorse.
The incident in question happened in November. 6.; police say they were sent to stop the fight and they were told by the bystanders who were involved. They arrested 45-year-old lady Justina Michel without any further wait and seized the weapon they said was found.
Police said she was arrested while the others related in the alleged fight weren’t based on the escalation of violence and the severity of injuries.
“The investigation is in progress and if there are other arrests associated with this incident in the future, police will release a lot of information as appropriate,” a Royal Canadian Mounted Police advocate said.
Michel is charged with one count of assault and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. She remains in custody till the next court date.
Police say that Michel and the men were injured and these injuries were assessed by medical professionals.
“As many of the witnesses weren’t cooperative with the investigation, police have reached out to businesses in the area for surveillance video of the incident. The investigation is in progress,” a Royal Canadian Mounted Police statement reads.
